Overview Intec has served as a trusted advisor to the world’s largest diversified resources company BHP Billiton. Over the past three years Intec have provided a diverse range of project management and technology services as part of the Olympic Dam Expansion. Through 2008 and 2009 Intec was awarded key projects covering Knowledge Management and Workforce Management Solutions. Business Need - Knowledge Management The Olympic Dam Expansion (ODX) project required a collaborative, electronic space for the sharing of electronic content between participants. ODX required the ability to: Enable the exchange of information in a controlled and auditable manner ; Communicate easily and minimise the cycle time of reviewing and approving content; and Publish controlled documents to all project participants (internal and external).
Intec Group’s Involvement Intec Group provided project management and business analysis services to: Determine and document the scope and business vision for the project; Calculate the costs associated with the “Document Services” solution; Manage the development of detailed user requirements; - Prepare a Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation including evaluation criteria.
- Manage the evaluation and selection process as a result of the RFP process;
- Manage key stakeholders including third parties in the adoption of the recommended solution;
- Initiate some change management strategies for the business when deploying the solution.
Results As a result of this work the following deliverables were produced: Business Vision, Project Execution Plan and Budget; RFP Documentation and Evaluation Criteria and Report; Project Management documentation (schedules, issues, risks, communication plans etc.); and - Stakeholder presentations;
