Overview

The HSA Group (Health Services Australia) is a Government Business Enterprise providing occupational health and rehabilitation, travel health, and health assessments to government and corporate Australia. Intec has had a business relationship with HSA spanning more than seven years. Over this time Intec and HSA have jointly worked on the design, development and implementation of complex, customised and secure IT solutions. Recent projects have involved migrating their complex business systems to online via an intuitive, user friendly interface.

Business Need - Online Capability

HSA Group required their paper based service provision model to be converted to an online system. HSA Group required customised, complex services to be delivered accurately and efficiently via an intuitive, user friendly interface. The service results must then be delivered via secure email in a customised, client defined document. The primary objectives of the project were to enable HSA Group to provide a contemporary service solution to their clients while improving their outstanding performance and quality standards.

Intec Group’s Involvement

Intec Group provided project management and systems development services to:

  • Determine the scope of the project through consultation with business units;
  • Design a Microsoft Windows based solution;
  • Develop the system using hybrid AGILE development methodology;
  • Use state of the art tools such as XAML and the .NET 3.5 framework

Results

As a result of this work the following deliverables were produced:

  • Work Package definition document;
  • Technical Architecture Specification;
  • Working prototype;  and
  • A customisable technical solution.

The business outcomes of this project have been:

  • Strong business awareness and ownership of project outcomes;
  • HSA Group’s needs were met while exceeding their expectations in areas;
  • The new application’s longevity and compatibility with the latest release of Windows OS;
  • The new software integrated with existing line of business applications;  and
  • The ultimate solution was in line with the business requirements and objectives at delivery.
