Background

Effective Risk Management is a critical element of Project Management.  Projects may fail for many reasons, but an all too common problem is failure to correctly identify the risk elements of the project and to put in place effective risk management plans.

The Risk Management approach outlined in this course is based on the Australian Risk Management Standard together with a range of practical tips and techniques that should be used to effectively control the risks of a project.

Objectives

On completion of this course delegates are expected to be able to:

  • Understand what risk is and how risk can adversely impact on a project
  • Identify and evaluate project risk
  • Develop effective risk management plans
  • Put the risk mitigation measures in place and hence reduce the risk profile of a project
  • Apply a range of associated techniques that assist in the identification, communication and management of risk over the entire project life cycle

    Pre-requisites

    Ideally delegates should:

  • Have some experience of working on projects
  • Be familiar with the basic terminology within project management
  • Duration

    1 day 9.00am – 4.30pm.
